A workout for your fretting fingers
Read this before you start the following exercises:
Keep your fretting hand in one position so that you consistently use the same finger for a particular fret.
So, if we started on the 3rd fret that would be:
1st finger - 3rd fret
2nd finger - 4th fret
3rd finger - 5th fret
4th finger - 6th fret
The numbers in the circles of the diagrams show the order in which the notes are to be played.
Once you are familiar with the patterns try moving them around the neck to different positions.
Keep your right hand playing regular alternate up and down picks.
